Since this post got some attention now I will describe the start I have been using and the problems I encounter. I just want to beat one fleet with three Radiants and one Tesseract. And when I say beat I mean next to no losses, not just win. When I say big fleet I mean three Radiants or two Radiant and a lot of Brilliants. Give it a good officer with Target Analysis, Helsmanship (make it elite for more mobility, especially while venting), Missile Specialization (make it elite, for that 50% reload speed increase), Shield Modulation, Gunnery Implants and Energy Weapon mastery and you got a buzzsaw of a capital ship with destroyer mobility on your hands. You will NOT win a ranged engagement.Īn odissey with 3 integrated hullmods can have two Plasma cannons, two Xyphos support wings (without expanded deck crew, it's not needed), 3 Sabot SRM pods and 1 Hurricane with both Expanded Missile racks and ECCM, 360° shields with Hardened Shields and enough leftover OP to max out on vents.

It's a hypermobile, burst fire monster that can either have 4 free ion beams in the form of two Xyphos Support Fighters or infinite dual Sabot SRM pods in the form of double Longbow Bomber.Īnd again, you got to focus on overwhelming burst firepower to defeat radiants.

It's the patch prior to 0.95, true, but there's a reason why the odissey is worth 45DP while all the other capitals but the Paragon clock in at 40. I'll also just drop by to give you a video showcasing my favourite battlecruiser doing dirty, dirty things to Remnants. The only purpose I can see in having that thing appear is for Alex and the rest of the dev team to look at the forum, see what ships and setups actually manage to beat it and then nerf them, because only the most overpowered, cheese laden meta strats could ever hope to overcome it. Radiant is one of those ships, it's the most underpriced ship for the amount of sheer, murdering firepower the entire vanilla game has to offer.provided you load it up with 4Sabots, 2Hammer Barrage/Typhoon Reaper Launchers, two Plasma Cannons and a Paladin PD.Īll you have to do now is to find the others, good luck and remember that the one fight you're alluding to was most likely designed to be extremely unfair and that nobody is going to think ill of you or your skill if you just don't bother trying after a while. The fights harder than those not only require the steps I've listed but also a very limited roster of ships to do it with, as some ships are objectively a lot better than others and you need the best of the best to even hope of winning that particular fight. The third step is to use a mobile strike force to methodically butcher the enemy as it scrambles to capture everything, leaving its forces isolated from one another, while yours are concentrated into a fine, sharp blade to cut thru them one by one.įollow these three steps and Ordos will be perfectly farmable with minimal to no losses. The AI prioritizes capturing these and preventing him to capture them all and not just concentrate all of its superior forces into killing your ships is vital for your success. The second step is to have enough annoying little helpers to keep contesting buoys as much as possible.

Ensuring you can deploy as many Fleet Points as the enemy no matter how bigger his forces are.

The first step is to capture buoys to level the field. Get in there and have your meatgrinder of a fleet destroy things as fast as they can. If the enemy has superior shielding, flux capacity and officers and you can't muster enough long range firepower to keep it away then the answer is to do the opposite. Forget about any beam weapon that ever existed that is not called Tachyon Lance or Ion beam and, for the love of Ludd, forget about the Paragon. Forget about anything too slow or without a burn drive to get closer to the enemy. It's not a problem it's a question and the answer to it is YES.įorget about carriers using fighters, forget about long range kiting. Beating and Doritos involves the same tactics for when it's raining and there's a horde of starving, hydrophobic man eating racoons running towards your house from every direction.
